한 유명한 사냥꾼이 있었다.
그는 사냥감을 놓치지 않는 뛰어난 활솜씨를 가지고 있었다.

어느 날, 사냥꾼은
산속에서 사슴 두 마리를 발견했다.
하나는 어미 사슴, 하나는 아기 사슴이었다.

그는 즉시 화살을 집어 들었고,
눈 깜짝할 사이에 아기 사슴은 비명을 지르며 쓰러졌다.

그런데 두 번째 화살을 찾고 있자니
새끼 사슴에 박힌 화살을 뽑아보려 안달하던 어미 사슴이
이윽고 기운이 다한 듯 쓰러지는 게 아닌가!

‘이상하군? 어미 사슴에게는 화살을 쏘지도 않았는데?’

의아하게 여긴 사냥꾼은 어미사슴의 배를 갈라보았다.
그랬더니..
어미사슴의 창자는 조각조각 잘라져 있었다.

자식 잃은 슬픔으로 단장(斷腸)…

사냥꾼은 눈물을 흘리며
활과 화살을 부러뜨리고 다시는 사냥을 하지 않았다.

Two deer for one arrow.

There was a famous hunter.
He had an excellent bowing skill not to miss his prey.

One day, the hunter…
I found two deer in the mountains.
One was a mother deer, and the other was a baby deer.

He picked up the arrow at once,
In a blink of an eye, the deer collapsed screaming.

But looking for the second arrow,
The mother deer was anxious to take out the arrow from the deer.
I’m afraid I’m going to faint as if I’m out of energy!

“That’s strange. I didn’t even shoot an arrow at the mother deer.”’

The questioned hunter split the mother deer’s belly.
And then…
The mother deer’s intestines were cut into pieces.

I’m sorry for the loss of my child.

The hunter wept,
He broke his bow and arrow and never hunted again.
