지난 8월 22일
서울 남대문 경찰서 태평로 파출소로
길을 잃은 것처럼 보이는 아이가 있다는
신고가 접수되었습니다.

현장에 나가 아이를 파출소로 데리고 온
송태화 경위와 박정식 경사.
10대 초반으로 보이는 아이는 차분히 있지 못했는데,
나중에 알게 된 것이지만,
이 아이는 지적장애 3급을 가진 11살 꼬마였습니다.

두 경찰관은 부모님 연락처와 사는 곳을 물어봤지만,
아이는 자신의 이름만 말할 뿐 아무것도 몰랐습니다.
계속해서 아이에게 질문을 하던 중,
아이가 뱉은 한 마디.

“짜장면 먹고 싶어요”
그때 번뜩 두 경찰관은 재치 있는 질문을 합니다.

“혹시 자장면 배달해주는 중국집 전화번호 알고 있니?”

그러자 아이가 여러 개의 전화번호를 말하기 시작합니다.
아이가 말한 전화번호를 빠짐없이 적어 일일이 전화를 해보니,
그중 한 군데가 서울 강서구에 있는
한 중국집으로 확인되었습니다.

아이의 이름과 인상착의 설명을 듣고
한참 생각하시던 중국집 사장님은
그 아이가 종종 자장면을 주문하던
손님의 아이 같다고 하십니다!!

그리하여 중국집 사장님에게
아이 부모님 연락처를 파악해 달라고 부탁을 해
마침내 아이 엄마와 연락이 닿았습니다.

아니나 다를까 없어진 아이 때문에 걱정이시던 어머니는
울먹이시며 고맙다는 말씀을 하십니다.
하지만 몸이 아프셔서
아이를 데리러 올 수 없으시다는 어머니 말씀에
쏟아지는 폭우를 뚫고
직접 아이를 집에 무사히 데려다 주었습니다.

잃어버릴 뻔한 아이를 찾게 되어 다행입니다.^^
짜장면이 먹고 싶다는 아이의 말을 흘려듣지 않고,
부모님을 찾는 단서로 활용한
두 경찰관에게 박수를 보냅니다.

I want to eat jajangmyeon.

Last August 22nd.
Namdaemun Police Station in Seoul, Taepyeong-ro Police Box.
There’s a child who looks lost.
A report has been received.

I went to the scene and brought my child to the police box.
Song Tae-hwa and Park Jeong-sik.
The child, who appeared to be in his early teens, could not remain calm.
I found out later,
This was an 11-year-old kid with a level 3 intellectual disability.

The two officers asked for their parents’ contact information and where they lived.
The child only said his name and didn’t know anything.
While continuing to ask questions to the child,
a word uttered by a child

“I want to have Black Bean Noodles”.
Then the two policemen suddenly ask a witty question.

“Do you know the phone number of the Chinese restaurant that delivers jajangmyeon?”

Then, the child starts to say several phone numbers.
I wrote down all the phone numbers my child had told me and called them one by one by one,
One of them is in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
It has been confirmed as a Chinese restaurant.

After hearing the child’s name and description,
The owner of the Chinese restaurant that I was thinking about for a long time…
The kid often ordered jajangmyeon.
They say I’m like your child!

So I asked the owner of the Chinese restaurant.
Ask him to get the contact information of his parents.
Finally, I got in touch with my child’s mother.

As expected, the mother who was worried about the missing child
He cried and thanked me.
But he’s sick.
When the mother said she couldn’t pick up her child,
through the pouring rain
I took my child home safely.

I’m glad I found a child I almost lost.^^
I didn’t let my child say that I wanted to eat jajangmyeon.
I used it as a clue to finding my parents.
I applaud the two police officers.
