양을 치면서 생계를 유지하는 한 남자가 있었다.
어느 날 그의 양들이 샘물을 먹고
시름시름 앓다 끝내는 죽어버리고 말았다.

자신의 생계이자 전부였던 양들이
다 죽어 버리자
남자는 크게 낙심하였다.

‘이제 우리 가족은 다 굶어 죽게 되었구나.’

그는 양을 살려낼 수도 없었고,
새로운 양을 살 돈도 없었다.

살 길이 막막해진 그에게
스쳐가는 한 생각이 있었다.

‘죽을 때 죽더라도,
양들이 죽은 원인은 꼭 알아야겠다!’

그는 샘물을 떠다가 연구소에 의뢰했다.

연구 결과 샘물에서 나온 짙은 액체는
석유의 원료였던 것이다.

살 길이 없다며 한탄했던 그는
그때 발견한 석유의 원료로
새로운 희망의 길을 찾게 되었다.

He made a request to the laboratory after pumping spring water.

Studies have shown that the thick liquid from the spring water
